When feeling under the weather, a warm cup of turmeric and ginger milk can often help. Turmeric and ginger are rich in antioxidants that help fight inflammation, honey is especially good when you have a sore throat, and the warm milk helps you relax. Perfect for a bedtime drink or morning latte.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) milk, dairy or plant-based, i used whole milk
  • 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric (or ⅓ tsp ground turmeric)
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger (or ⅓ tsp ground ginger)
  • ½–1 tsp honey, to taste
  • A small pinch of black pepper (helps your body absorb turmeric)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • A tiny pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Warm the milk

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and warm gently over medium-low heat.

2. Add the spices

  1. Grate tumeric and ginger, and add to the pan with black pepper, salt and cinnamon (if using) . Simmer gently on medium to low heat (about a 3 on induction) for 5 minutes, whisking often until golden.

3. Sweeten

  1. Remove from the heat and stir in honey.

4. Strain and serve

  1. If prefered strain the tumeric and ginger with a fine mesh strainer into a mug. I often just pour it straight with the small pieces of spices if I am feeling lazy :)

Serving Suggestions
